'Kick Ass 2: Balls To The Wall' Just Might Happen

After months of uncertainty whether Kick Ass 2: Balls To The Wall was every going to go into production, Deadline has just revealed that universal has stepped in to finance the film.

The big question was surrounded around if the original cast will be returning for the second edition. Rumors suggested that Kick Ass lead Aaron Johnson may not return and the production team has lined up possible replacements. Though, that turned out not to be true, these rumors may have been caused by the fact that none of the original actors had sequel deals in place.

According to Movieweb Universal Pictures is close to finalizing deals with the actors including Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and even Nicolas Cage.

Universal has hired Jeff Wadlow to direct the film from his own screenplay.

If and when all the deals are finalized, production is likely to begin in August of this year. Kick Ass 2: Ball To The Wall is schedule for a end of summer release in 2013.
