Halle Berry was recently spotted sporting a new look at a red carpet event in New York, switching from her signature crop to curly extensions. Long seen as a trend setter for black women everywhere, Berry has garnered considerable attention with her new look.
Perhaps the 45-year-old is using her striking new ‘do to signify a break with her past. The bouncy curls debuted after the celebrity parted ways with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. She is now engaged to French actor Olivier Martinez.
Just as fans were shocked to hear about her decision to remarry, Berry too said she was somewhat taken by surprise since she had vowed to never walk down the isle again.
Halle Berry and Martinez plan to move to France in search of more privacy for her four-year-old daughter Nahla. Berry praised French laws that protect children from paparazzi. “All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life,” she said. “When I’m not at work, that’s very important to me.”
Unfortunately, Berry’s move to France has been difficult. She is currently engaged in a bitter custody battle with ex-boyfriend and Canadian model Gabriel Aubrey. Aubrey does not wish for Nahla to move to Europe and claims that he cannot travel back and forth between the U.S. and France. The judge has yet to officially declare a rule on it.
According to TMZ, Aubrey is also pushing for a sizable sum from Berry because he needs “a proper environment” to care for their daughter when she is staying with him.
Berry’s legal counsel hopes to prove that Aubry’s modeling schedule will allot enough time for Aubrey to travel. Berry has already begun searching for preschools in Paris.
