CNN is reporting that Singer Al Jarreau was recovering at home Monday after a bout of pneumonia forced him to cancel a performance in Escondido, California, over the weekend.
Jarreau attributed his illness and fatigue to a “very busy week on tour,” according to a statement on his website.
The tour dates included four concerts in Austria before the scheduled performance in Escondido on Saturday.
“He will spend a short time recovering at home before resuming his normal work schedule,” the statement said.
The 72-year-old singer is best known for “Breakin’ Away,” “We’re in This Love Together” and for the theme song to the popular 1980’s TV show, “Moonlighting.”
He earned seven Grammy awards, in categories as diverse as jazz, pop and R&B.
