Jada Pinkett Smith Outshines Will Smith At Cannes Festival

Jada Pinkett Smith is accompanying her husband megastar Will Smith at the Cannes Festival in France this year to promote her DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted and Will’s “Men In Black: III”.

The feisty petite mother-of-three, Jaden, Willow, and Trey from Will’s previous marriage, lends her voice to the animated film along with actor Ben Stiller, comedian-actor Chris Rock, and funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen.

The ostentatious event is notorious for drawing in Hollywood’s bigwigs and the elite stars always make it memorable.

“I can’t wait to go to Cannes! I’ve always had great fun at the festival. For the rest I do not know what I will do in the coming months, my schedule does not go further than two weeks,” the 40-year-old told Italian magazine Io Donna.

The working hands-on mom seems to be like every other mother who insists on creating balance between home life and career.

“It is hard to split my time between…Will’s work, our production team, and the family routine. It is a continuous race… if you hesitate, you are lost.”

Can we talk about Jada’s fashion as of late? The woman is shutting it down in everything from spring-themed one-shoulder frocks to cutoffs—and ferosh in each statement she’s making!

Jada was spotted with daughter Willow while at the festival in denim cutoffs with exposed pockets that she chic’d up with a black blazer and clutch and a comfy tee, but her style is on another level when she steps out with hubby Will.

We were salivating over a dark teal number with pronounced power shoulders and a revealing front that stopped right before her business—fierce! While the two were taking in a tennis match at the Madrid Open, she awed in a one-shoulder powder blue kaleidoscope dress that adorned her tiny frame immaculately.

Another carpet look she went for at the “Men In Black” Seoul premiere that was absolutely fab—a blouson sequin jumper that draped flawlessly and a sleek ponytail was the necessary addition to finish the look.

Which one of Jada’s look has your attention the most?

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
