The Boondocks has just received the go-ahead for a fourth season. That means Huey and Riley Freeman (who is voiced by actress Regina King), will soon be tearing up the boondocks once again.
King recently spoke on the possibility of The Boondocks getting a fourth season:
“I talked to Aaron and it looks like they’re working things out. I’m trying to be positive. But you know you say one thing and the next thing you know it just fell apart. But it looks strong like we’re coming back.”
Also returning is Granddad, who is played by John Witherspoon. Back in 2011, Witherspoon mentioned in an interview with Sacramento’s Hot 103.5 that The Boondocks would return for a 20-episode fourth season, but no one really took heed to his information.
The Boondocks is an animated series created by Aaron McGruder. It’s about the Freeman family, who moves from the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, to the peaceful suburb of Woodcrest. The differences in culture, lifestyle, and race fuels the characters to display exciting comedic material for the audience.
The series will return on Adult Swim but there is no official date as of yet.
