Robert De Niro has agreed to join Michael Douglas in the upcoming CBS Films’ comedy Last Vegas.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dan Fogelman, Last Vegas centers around a group of four retired men who are called on for a Las Vegas bachelor party by their mutual friend. The friend, after 40 years of playing the field, is finally marrying a woman half his age, and subsequently leading the 60-year-old men to Las Vegas for his bachelor party.
According to CBS Films, De Niro will play “the party-averse Paddy Connelly, who reluctantly agrees to fly to Vegas at the request of his friends.” The veteran actor’s character has an old riff with Douglas’ character, which developed when they were younger, over a girl.
The Oscar-winner De Niro was most recently seen in the movie Being Flynn and is currently filming Hands of Stone. He also recently finished up work on The Wedding; The Silver Linings Playbook and Killing Season.
