First Look at Charlize Theron’s Adopted Son, Jackson

Charlize Theron made her way through LAX on Monday with a very important and adorable carry-on. For the first time, the new mother took baby Jackson out of his capsule and allowed the world to get a peek at her handsome adopted son. Jackson clutched his 36-year-old mommy as cameras happily snapped away at the precious baby and his multi-talented mother.

Photos released by X17 revealed Theron and her son dressed casually for their quiet day together. Baby Jackson looked too cute in his khaki pants and striped t-shirt. Jackson’s bright orange socks added an additional pop of color to the outfit that was finished off with his black sneakers. Mommy looked just as fashionable in a blue oversized cardigan, a white t-shirt, and a pair of perfectly fitted skinny jeans. Although most new mothers put on their favorite pair of flats when carrying about their child, Theron appeared to be quite the supermom as she strutted through LAX in chic ankle boots with some very skinny heels.

The South African actress announced her adoption of a baby boy back in March, but Jackson remained hidden from the public eye until now. The star of Snow White and the Huntsman told Vogue UK, “I’ve always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I’ve always known I wanted a family. I don’t think my mom could wait any more!” It is apparent that Jackson is in the very loving hands of both his mother and his grandmother. Sources revealed that Theron’s mother frequently helps out with taking care of the baby, so attention will never be something that Jackson has to go without. The Oscar-winning-actress hopes to follow the footsteps of her mother as she raises Jackson. She shared that her goal is to, “be like my mom: fair, tough, loving, and supportive. My mom has made it possible for me to be who I am. Our family is everything.”

The model and actress looks forward to motherhood and claims she is lucky enough to be raising “the coolest kid ever.”

Independent journalism doesn't fund itself.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
