Bass will be Resonant at the Montreal Jazz Festival

If you enjoy the resonant bottom notes of the bass, this year’s Festival International de Jazz de Montreal will hit something of a high note for you. On the bill for the 33rd year of the festival is the dean of the bass, Ron Carter and a outstanding assemblage of those who continue in his legacy on the instrument over the decades.

Festival-goers will have the chance to catch sets by Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Darryl Jones, Jack Bruce and the exciting, young Esperanza Spalding.

Bass isn’t all your ears will delight to, however, if you venture north to French Canada because appearing will also be everyone from Joey DeFrancesco to Ziggy Marley with Fishbone in between. Tres bien!!

The Festival International de Jazz de Montreal runs 28 June – 7 July at various venues across the city.
