Southland has been renewed for its fifth season. The TNT cop drama series is slated for a new 10-episode slot.
“We are very proud of Southland and grateful to everyone involved in the series, including executive producers John Wells, Chris Chulack and Jonathan Lisco; creator Ann Biderman; and our partners at Warner Bros. Television,” Michael Wright, head of programming for TNT, said of the renewal. “The show has not only solidified its impassioned fan base, but also picked up some new young-adult devotees along the way. We look forward to going deeper into the lives of Southland’s extraordinary characters and the streets they struggle to keep safe next year.”
Southland is a TV show created by writer Ann Biderman and produced by Warner Bros. Television. The cast members include Benjamin McKenzie, Regina King, Michael Cudlitz, Shawn Hatosy and Kevin Alejandro.
The series, which was initially aired by NBC before being picked up by TNT, will premiere in February 2013.
