HBO and Bill Maher have closed a new deal to continue to show Real Time With Bill Maher for two more seasons. The cable network, which can be seen by pay order, has renewed Real Time With Bill Maher for its 11th and 12th seasons.
“Bill Maher’s irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. “I’m delighted that we can continue to offer an uncensored forum for his original and thoughtful humor.”
Real Time with Bill Maher is a talk show that comes on HBO, which is hosted by political junkie and comedian Bill Maher. Similar to Maher’s last show, Politically Incorrect on ABC, Real Time features a panel of guests that discuss current events in politics and the media. Different from his previous show, though, the guests are usually experts in the subject matter, such as journalists, professors and political participants.
The deal was solidified right in time for the 2012 Presidential elections. This season, Maher’s Friday night series has been watched by an average of 4.1 million viewers weekly, his highest numbers in three years.
Real Time With Bill Maher will air through at least 2014.
