Jared Harris lands the lead role in Hammer Film’s supernatural horror/thriller The Quiet Ones.
Harris will play a charming but controversial professor whose teaching methods take his students off the grid with a dangerous experiment to create a poltergeist. The story is from Tom Deville with revisions by Oren Moverman, Craig Rosenberg, and John Pogue.
Production begins in the UK in early June. James Gay-Rees is producing, while Tobin Armbrust is overseeing the production.
Harris is currently starring in the AMC hit series Mad Men where he plays Lane Pryce the outcast of the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce advertising agency.
He can also be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Civil War period piece, Lincoln, where he will play former President of the United States Ulysses S. Grant. The UK born actor is best known for his role opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, as Professor James Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows.
