Christopher Mintz-Plasse To Star In Upcoming TV Show ‘Friend Me’

Christopher Mintz-Plasse has been picked to play the lead of CBS’ new comedy pilot Friend Me.

The show is based on best friends Evan (Mintz-Plasse) and Rob (Nicholas Braun). The duo, who are in their 20s, move to Los Angeles from their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana to begin their new lives working at Groupon.

The actor was the first choice for the project produced by CBS. Mintz-Plasse is currently shooting a CBS Films’ comedy Get A Job where he also plays alongside Braun. The Superbad star has been on TV once before, when he had a guest spot on Starz’s Party Down. As far as being in movies, the actor is best known for playing in Super Bad, Role Models, Kick-A$$, How To Train Your Dragon and Fright Night.

Alan Kirschenbaum and Ajay Sahgal will write the script for the new series and Tannenbaum Co. will produce, alongside CBS studios.
