Eva Longoria And Eduardo Cruz Call It Quits

Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz split after a yearlong romantic relationship ensued briefly following the “Desperate Housewives” divorce from NBA player Tony Parker.

No word from the actress or her decade younger beau, but a close source to the couple confirmed to US WEEKLY on Thursday that the laid back Latino pair has indeed split.

“It was a mutual decision. They are staying friends.”

Oddly enough, the doting couple was spotted just last month celebrating their one-year mark on a boat in Miami looking unfazed or troubled.

The sexy duo was introduced by Eduardo’s sister, actress Penelope Cruz, who played matchmaker and acquainted the two at a party back in October 2010. The timing was a bit questionable (rebound?) because it was awfully close to the juncture of Longoria announcing her split from then-husband Tony Parker. Rebound or not, the slender actress spoke about how fond she was of Eduardo.

“The only thing I will say is I was very lucky to find Edu (Eduardo).”

Eva, 36, was married to actor Tyler Christopher before tying the knot with Tony, pegging herself as someone “who is not good at dating.” She filed for divorce from Parker after catching the ball player sexting continuously with Spur’s player Brent Barty’s wife.

Cheating doesn’t seem to be the case for the charming pair, and some are saying this break is not permanent. For now, Cruz headed back to Madrid, Spain while Longoria is throwing herself into work, specifically Desperate Housewives.
