UPDATE-On Friday night during an interview with Jonathan Ross, Rihanna was an open book . For the first time the pop star addressed her rumored meltdown after reportedly overworking during her exhaustive LOUD tour. As it turned out there was no meltdown – at least not at the time the media claim there to be.
The Barbadian beauty went on to reveal that her relationship with other reigning pop stars Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyonce is heavily based on a built in competition understood between the ladies. “It will always be a competition….and that’s why I feel like women are becoming so dominant in music right now because we are very competitive beings. And we cannot stand to see another woman do better than us, that bothers us a lot. As much as you guys have egos, our egos are a little bigger. We’re just a lot better at hiding them.”
When quizzed about her sexy persona and often raunchy performances Rihanna blamed it on her culture in Barbados,
“I don’t really ever notice it, or think about it, until the feedback. It really made me think about this for a long time as to why it is this way, why people find it so sexual, but going back to Carnival in Barbados, the Crop Over (festival), this year I really notice that it’s a cultural thing. It’s the way we move… You can see me… half-naked, having a good time… all that good stuff.
On her love life Rihanna put the rumor to rest that she’s reuniting with Chris Brown, “I am a single lady.”
