Hayden Panettiere landed her latest role on ABC’s drama pilot Nashville. The former Heroes star will play a teen sensation named Juliette Barnes, who is called upon to re-ignite a 40-year-old Nashville superstar’s failing music career.
Nashville is described as a modern soap opera about love, country music, family, politics and sex. Written by Callie Khouri, directed by R.J., and produced by Lionsgate and ABC Studios.
Panettiere is best known for her role as Claire Bennett on NBC’s fantasy drama Heroes. She recently played Amanda Knox in a made-for-TV movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy and Kirby Reed in the horror thriller Scream 4.
The actress is fully prepared for what potentially could be a vocally demanding role. Before her acting career she was a recording artist. Her first single, ‘Wake up Call’ was released in August of 2008. She also recorded a song entitled “My Hero Is You” for a Disney film she starred in. The following year she sang “I Fly” for the Disney movie Ice Princess.
