Tickets for Liongate’s The Hunger Games are now on sale prompting a buying frenzy that outpaced the advance purchasing of all other soon-to-be released movies.
According to Fandango, tickets for the film accounted for 83 percent of their Wednesday sales, while Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds and Act of Valor, both with Friday openings, only accounted for two percent. The numbers from Movietickets.com could not be obtained at this time.
Anxious fans who don’t mind an outdoor slumber party are invited to camp out overnight near the Nokia Theatre, ahead of the March 12 world premiere. Four hundred campers, who must RSVP in advance, will be gifted with tickets to the premiere.
If you’re not up for making the pavement your bed just to get a glimpse of the “Hunger Games” cast, you may catch actors Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and others on their mall tour, beginning March 3.
The cast will attend, in varying combinations, in malls in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, Miami, Chicago and Minneapolis.
To further encourage ticket sales, two new trailers have also been released. Watch them below and see if you will like to join the ‘Games’ in March.
