A Great Feat: 'The Simpsons' Reaches Its 500th Episode

On Sunday night (Feb. 19), The Simpsons aired their 500th episode. It’s a great accomplishment that probably won’t be matched anytime soon.

In last night’s show, Springfield residents expressed that they have had enough of the Simpson family and decided to kick them out of town. As a result, Homer and the bunch had to find a new life living in the country.

After living in misery Marge and Homer decided to sneak back into the city. Upon their return, the two found out that they were unwanted around town.

The two returned to the rural area and before they knew it all of the Springfield residents followed them back to their new abode. In that same area is where a new Springfield was built by all the residents and all was back to normal.

The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical parody of a middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its family of the same name, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television and many aspects of the human condition(Wiki).

The first ever episode of The Simpsons first aired on December 17, 1989.
