Nicki Minaj joins a hefty lineup of celebrity performers for the NBA All-Star game in Orlando, Florida on February 26. Just as news come that the “Right Thru Me” rapper is to head the game’s show, she is dissed by her nemesis, rapper Lil’ Kim, who calls the self-proclaimed Barbie a “stupid hoe”. More on that slight later.
Minaj is expected to perform a medley of her hits including the top-charting single “Super Bass” and her latest release “Starships”, but after scathing reviews for that Grammy performance, we doubt “Roman Holiday” will make the cut.
Besides the hottest female MC of the moment, Mary J. Blige, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Will.i.am are all part of the spectacular set to perform for the usual star-studded weekend event along with unexpected “special guests performers.”
Pitbull and Ne-Yo will team up for the All-Star Game halftime show to perform their former Hot 100 chart-topper, “Give Me Everything.” While the Queen of Hip Hop, Mary J. Blige, is scheduled to give her rendition of the U.S. national anthem, with pop group Neverest rendering the Canadian’s national anthem.
Will.i.am and Flo Rida will perform during the NBA All-Star Saturday night events the day before, which will include the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and the Three-Point Contest. The Black Eyed Pea member will play his solo single “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever),” while Flo Rida will perform his pop hit “Good Feeling.”
Common, Ne-Yo, Kevin Hart, and other stars will participate in the February 24 All-Star celebrity game. The coaches will feature both All-Star players Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant.
Now back to Lil’ Kim’s off-cusp remark…why?
Well, it’s no secret that the two female MC’s aren’t the best of friends because Lil’ Kim thinks Minaj didn’t give her her deserved props for paving the way. But the bad blood got worse last month (if possible) when Nicki’s new single “Stupid Hoe” was said to have many lines hurling in the direction of the Queen B such as “I get it crackin’ like a bad back/*itch talking she the queen when she’s lookin’ like a lab rat” and supposedly—that ran Kim hot.
So, when the “Black Friday” rapper visited the “Watch What Happens Live” show with Andy Cohen on Bravo, Kim was asked what she thought of the “Stupid Hoe” track and she replied, “I’m pretty sure I feel the same way everybody else feels about it now. If you have to make a song called ‘Stupid Hoe’, you must be a stupid hoe.” Ouch.
