Super Bowl: How To Host A Fabulous Party

With Super Bowl this weekend, football parties are in full swing right now! Its fun to watch the Big Game with a group of friends at home because most sports bars will be crowded. Or maybe it was your man who came up with the idea and you have to plan and execute it. Don’t worry we have put together tips to make sure the planning process is seamless and you can focus on being the hostess with the mostess on game day. Guest List Its important to start contacting your friends to make sure they are available to watch the game with you and your man on his 64inch HD flat screen TV. The sooner the better so you can determine if its even worth having a party or keep it low key. Simply call or send your friends text messages to get your your guest list started. Food List Looking for delicious inspiration to wow your football fanatic friends during the big game? Head over to CHOW.com where there are easy recipes that bring a different point of view to some traditional party meals. Classic football food creates a tailgate atmosphere. Easy items include; wings, hot dogs, buns, chili, sandwiches, pizza, and have condiments like chopped onion, diced avocado, pickles, tomato, sour cream, ketchup, shredded cheddar cheese, and salsa available. I would definitely include chips, popcorn, chocolate chip cookies, brownies and pretzels as well. The key is variety so that your friends are happy. You can also request that your friends bring an item or two to share, like a potluck. Drink List When I think of football, I think of beer, so have a couple of domestics and imports for variety. Include a bottle red and white wine for those who might prefer it over beer. Have plenty of soda and bottled water in market coolers with ice. Decoration I would not worry too much about decoration, but if you do, forget the color schemes of the other team if they don't mean anything to you. Party supply stores will have tons of paper and plastic decorations you can buy, but some of them are a bit on the cheesy side (which could work this year, if you’re a Cheesehead.) I’d stick with the Super Bowl- or team-themed cups and napkins. You can tell your friends to wear colors of their favorite team to bring some color in the room. The most important thing is to have enough chairs and rearrange the room to have open space for people to sit on the floor if they have to. Other Items I suggest using plastic plates, cups, and forks to save your time, hand, and nails from hours of washing dishes once your guests are gone. Have trash bags available to collect used items, paper towel, and napkins are needed for spills. Do everything ahead of time because you don't want to be stuck in the kitchen and miss the big play or the best commercial and enjoy with your friends. Be ready at least a couple of hours before the game so you are dressed comfortably, and you look relaxed. And if that means purchasing your party food, then make it easy on yourself and buy a batch of your favorite items.
