Former American Idol alum Jordin Sparks is dating heartthrob Jason Derulo. The now confirmed couple was spotted together last fall when Jordin stepped out with Jason for his birthday celebration. The couple at the time didn’t make much of the speculation. Earlier this year Jason was rehearsing for his world tour when he fractured his neck in a near-fatal accident. Since then it appears the pair’s relationship has grown.
“I’m taking it one day at a time,” said Jason to People of the freak accident. “It’s been really eye-opening. It’s given me a chance to look at everything and realize how blessed I truly am.”
This of course would include his newly-svelte girlfriend Jordin, “We are together,” Jason gushed. “She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed, and she’ll go on walks with me.”
“We’ve gotten closer because of my accident. It’s awesome to have someone you can talk to, and she’s a wonderful person.”
How sweet!
UPDATE: Jason also made personal statement to his fans. “To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained,” he said in a statement soon after his accident.
“My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.”
