Aretha Franklin, 69, announced today she’s ending her engagement to Willie Wilkerson. Earlier this month Aretha revealed she was engaged to Willie, her longtime friend and partner for over 25 years. Franklin gushed about her Donna Karan, Valentino or Vera Wang wedding dress and planning a summer wedding. In the statement released tonight – Aretha said the wedding is off!
“Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time.”
