Minka Kelly And Derek Back On; Heather Locklear Sparks Suicide Rumors

UPDATE-Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter are definitely back on. The couple have sealed the rumors of a reconciliation with a kiss. The Charlie’s Angel star spent the holidays and beyond with her Yankees slugger in Paris, France. The on-again couple visited several sites in the city of lights including Musée D’Orsay, Montmartre district and Paris’ Sacré-Coeur church. While on vacation rekindling their romance Minka, 31, and Derek, 37, were spotted sharing a kiss.

The couple began dating in 2008 but ended their relationship in August 2011 to the shock of many. Reportedly Minka had to peel off the suitors including actor Jake Gyllenhaal who asked for a date. Maybe that’s why Derek came back around, nothing like a little competition to get a man moving!

Maybe we will hear wedding bells soon – hey   Justin and Jessica did it!

Heather Locklear Rushed To The Hospital After Sister Calls 911

Heather Locklear, 50, is resting and recovering at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Los Angeles after a frantic 911 call was made by her older sister Colleen.

It is believed that Heather was drinking alcohol with prescription drug, Xanex. Heather’s sister became worried and called 911 in the afternoon. The paramedics arrived at her home in Westlake Village and administered care for about an hour before The Melrose Place star was transferred to the hospital.

According to Radar Online,

“Colleen was worried about Heather’s state of mind and they were afraid she was going to harm herself. She was afraid Heather was going to harm herself because of her drinking mixed with medication.”

Heather’s parents Bill and Diane Locklear have released a statement on her condition,

“She is in no danger and she’s going to be just fine.”

Last November Heather and her former Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner broke off their engagement and end their on again, off again relationship.

Relationships are tough, hopefully Heather can get herself back together for the sake of her family and only daughter.

Update: According to TMZ, Heather Locklear had a dangerous mix of prescription drugs and alcohol. The unfortunate incident is being pegged a possible suicide attempt. In 2008 Heather was also hospitalized for overdosing on prescription medications. In the end it was a false alarm but Heather is under observation.

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
