Hugh Jackman, who has had huge success on Broadway in the past, will return to the stage for a musical about Harry Houdini.
The “X-Men” star will play the famed illusionist in “Houdini”, which is scheduled to play on Broadway during the 2013-14 slate.
Six-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin will write the script, and four-time Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz will write the lyrics for the music.
The actor’s last show at The Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway broke a record, after earning more than $2 million in its final week. That feat was the highest weekly gross ever recorded by the Shubert Organization, which owns The Broadhurst along with 16 other theaters on Broadway.
