Arnold Schwarzenegger may have gotten his comeback mission in full swing after landing his second lead role in an action thriller. Following his supporting role in “Expendables 2”, and his first comeback starring role in “The Last Stand”, Schwarzenegger will be playing an immortal angel-like warrior in an upcoming project currently being titled ‘Black Sands.’
The ‘Black Sands’ movie was initially described as a Commando-style flick where the lone Schwarzenegger would go up against a vicious weapons manufacturer and his heavily armed thugs. Now, the project is said to be an action-thriller with a supernatural twist.
The new project is reportedly directed by one-time stunt supervisors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh of the upcoming Act of Valor, and based on a screenplay by The A-Team writer Skip Woods. Shooting for the film is slated to begin on April 1, 2012 in Belen, New Mexico. The release date is planned for some time in mid or late 2013.
