Chris Brown Returns To The Grammys After Three Year Hiatus

Chris Brown is set to break his three year, no-show streak of the Grammys since the fiasco with then girlfriend Rihanna that took place the night before music’s biggest award show in 2009.

According to RadarOnline.com, Chris Brown will be attending the 54th Grammy Awards, February 11, 2012, and is in talks with Grammy producers to possibly perform.

The F.A.M.E. album artist is nominated for three Grammys in the categories of Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for his hit track “Look At Me Now” and for the coveted Best R & B album.

Brown has had some blatant challenges following his arrest and felony battery charges against Rihanna in 2009. From Twitter blow-ups to the window breaking incident backstage at the Good Morning America studio after interviewing with Robin Roberts, let’s hope the Grammys is a night of new beginnings for Brown.

A close source to Brown suggests that side of the superstar is not to be expected.

“Chris has grown tremendously as a person and an artist from that time in his life,” a source close to Brown tells Radar. “Chris has complied with all terms of his probation and has completed most of his court ordered community service. He has been a model probationer, but more importantly, Chris accepted responsibility for what he did. Chris took that experience and vowed to learn from it and become a better person, and he was thrilled and truly humbled that he was nominated for three Grammys.”

An obvious talent, if Brown performs, his captivating performance is a sure way to keep the Grammy ratings afloat. The 53rd Grammy Awards soared in ratings this year after a ten year slump.

“Chris absolutely plans on attending the Grammys and is in talks with producers of the show to possibly perform,” the source adds. “Chris performed at the MTV Video Music Awards several months ago, and his performance was simply over the top as he was flying through the air like an acrobat. Chris’ performance stole the show, and he would love to do something at the Grammys to top his VMA performance.”

If Rihanna attend the Grammy’s where’s she’s thrice nominated, it will mark the first time the embattled former couple will attend a high profile event at the same time. According a newly adjusted restraining order Rihanna and Chris can be in close proximity for awards or work related purposes.

In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Rihanna revealed that her experience with Chris will forever haunt her, “I’m afraid I’ll have to live with the gossip between me and Chris throughout my whole life.” Unfortunately for Rihanna, the Grammy’s will only highlight an event both parties wish to forget. Here’s hoping it will be about the music.
