Will Smith Slammed by Former Fresh Prince Costar Janet Hubert; Alfonso Ribeiro Responds

Janet Hubert has created a bit of a media frenzy after the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress revealed her bad feelings against co-star Will Smith was the reason why she is the only cast member absent from a photo of a recent reunion dinner held for the actors.

Hubert, who played the series’ Aunt Vivian Banks from 1990 through 1993, unleashed a few ill will words towards Smith and it appears she has not gotten over the bad blood between them.

“There will never be a reunion,” she told TMZ, “as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith.”

It seems that, Hubert holds Will Smith responsible for her being fired and replaced by actress Daphne Reid for the final three years of the show’s run. She promised to continue to intentionally skip future reunions until Smith apologizes.

“This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word,” Hubert is quoted as saying.

Will Smith had no comment on this latest outburst, but former co-star Alfonso Ribeiro has a different take on what caused Hubert’s demise on the show.  In a recent clip, the actor who played the role of Carlton in the show, described what he thought about Hubert and her impact on fellow cast members.

“Basically, at the end of the day, the Beep was crazy! …she went nuts …she made it very difficult for us to work and unfortunately she was then fired,” stated Ribeiro.

Apparently, the Fresh Prince storyline wasn’t the only drama on the set
