Real Housewives Of Atlanta Recap: Sheree Overshadows Kim Zolciak Baby

Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta wasn’t exactly filled with yuletide cheer. More like yuletide jeers. Sheree Whitfield’s child support woes became the show’s focal point, completely overshadowing the birth of Kim Zolciak‘s new baby, Kroy Jagger.

While Sheree’s marriage to former Atlanta Falcon Bob Whitfield dissolved years ago, he apparently hadn’t been paying Sheree any child support, pushing her to finally take him to court.

Although the fabulous Phaedra Parks was more than happy to serve as Sheree’s attorney, Phaedra admitted that she had some hesitation, given Sheree’s tendency not to pay her divorce attorneys in the past.   Those attorneys went on to sue Sheree for a total of more than $180,000.   Even her new Aston Martin was repossessed during the matter in order to recoup some of the missing fees.

Phaedra expressed her concerns with the following comment, claiming that although she and Sheree were friends, it didn’t insure her a discount:

“It makes me a little leery about representing her. I don’t work for free.” As expected, madness ensued as Phaedra’s staff had to track down Sheree down to get her $5,000 retainer. “We’re not a courier service. We’re not a pick-up deli,” Phaedra exclaimed, as her frustration rose.

Unfortunately this was only the beginning. Phaedra not only had to calm Sheree’s emotions prior to the court date, she also had to push for Sheree to make adjustments to her wardrobe prior to her Fulton County Court appearance–since it doesn’t exactly give the right impression when you show up in an expensive car with a designer handbag when trying to convince the court you need more money.

But Sheree balked at this idea.

“What does that have to do with anything?” she asked. “How I look–I don’t feel that should make a difference over what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Clearly Bob Whitfield got the message. He arrived in court without an attorney, poorly clothed, and filed a petition to have furniture returned to him that Sheree kept after the divorce.

A stalling tactic, yes, but one that appeared to work, as the judge rescheduled the case for a later date–which angered Sheree, as she saw Phaedra outsmarted by her ex-husband.

“She was outsmarted by an ex-football player who was representing himself,” Sheree announced with amazement, carrying a look of disdain.

Kim Zolciak didn’t have time to assert herself into Sheree’s drama. Kim was preparing for the homecoming of her new baby, KJ.

Kim’s husband, Kroy Biermann of the Atlanta Falcons, did most of the diapering since Kim claimed she was grossed out by her little one’s penis. Yep…you can tell this is her first son.

Coupled with her oldest daughter Brielle’s spoiled behavior, and the family pet pooping indoors for attention, Kim and Kroy will certainly have their hands full for many episodes to come.

Later, Kandi Burruss kick started a little controversy by inviting NFL player Charles Grant, who briefly dated NeNe Leakes, to her show, Kandi Koated Nights, to get the full scoop.   Unfortunately it was more like a half pint as Grant admitted they only went on one date and there wasn’t much to add after that.

Cynthia Bailey met with NeNe later and revealed the gossip.   NeNe was slightly annoyed, of course but she moved forward quicker than most viewers would expect.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back on at its regular time this Sunday at 9:00 P.M. (EST). The girls no doubt will be back to their regular antics.   Question is…will you be watching?
