Amy Winehouse's Father Doesn't Want A Movie Made About The Singer

Amy Winehouse’s dad has recently put a barrier in the way of Hollywood to possibly make a biopic about his daughter’s life.

Mitch Winehouse, who owns the rights to the late singer’s brand, spoke to Britain’s Daily Mail and told them that he will “never allow the songs to be released,” for the movie.

A couple months back, rumors hit the internet that Amy’s ex-boyfriend Reg Traviss, who is a filmmaker, had been in talks to produce a movie about Winehouse.

“It would hardly be a biopic without the music,” according to Mitch Winehouse, who said he plans to release a book about Amy. All the profit made from the book will go to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity organization established after her death to help children.

Winehouse was found dead on July 23 2011 at her home in London. On October 26 2011 a coroner ruled that alcohol poisoning was the cause of death. Winehouse’s family and friends attended her funeral on July 26. In August, her album ‘Back to Black’ became the UK’s best selling album of the 21st century(Wiki).

The singer was only 27 years old.
