Beyonce’s pregnant news was kind of like a big deal – a record breaking deal in social media. Twitter released it’s top 16 tweets-per-second moments of 2011 and Beyonce’s pregnancy news topped the list.
On August 28th, Beyonce performed ‘Love on Top’ at the MTV Video Music Awards then proceeded to drop her microphone, unbutton her sequined tuxedo jacket and rubbed her baby bump! Off went nearly 9,000 tweets to break the Twitter record! In her recent interview with Katie Couric Beyonce opened up about the special moment:
“News that’s that big, it’s hard to hide and keep to yourself. I felt so liberated and I felt *sigh* I can breathe and be happy. You know, it was a beautiful feeling. I went straight off the stage and just cried. I hugged my mom, I hugged Jay and just cried.”
