Nicki Minaj brings her rebellious alter ego Roman Polanski along for the ride on her sophomore album, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’.
In late September at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, Nicki said this about her sophomore album,
“All I can say is that Roman will definitely be a humongous part of the follow-up to Pink Friday. I can’t talk about anything else that has to do with the sophomore album.
Several days after the American Music Awards where Minaj won two awards in the Hip Hop category, she and boss Brian ‘Birdman’ Williams have a lot to say.
On Twitter, the Super Bass singer revealed,
“U know what??? There’s been a change of plans barbz. I’m announcing the name and date today. How do I get on ustream???” Nicki added, “Its only right to announce it on the anniversary of Pink Friday right barbz???”
“Pink Friday : ROMAN RELOADED will be released on Valentines Day, 2012. Heeeee’s baaaacccckkkkk.”
Earlier in the day Birdman revealed to Billboard on whether a single will hit the airwaves before the years out,
“Maybe this year? I don’t know,” Birdman said. “We’re really thinking it out. But she’s in the studio, and we’re looking real soon, because she’s ready to go and we’re ready to go with her.”
Adding some more good news to her plate, Nicki will be awarded the ‘Rising Star’ award at the sixth annual Women in Music event held by Billboard in New York City on December 2nd. Nicki said of the honor,
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard,” Minaj said in a statement. “My nation of Barbz and I have come a mighty long way; yet we are nowhere close to where God will take us. Sit back and enjoy the ride.”
