Wu-Tang's RZA To Play In Upcoming Quentin Tarantino Movie

RZA has been cast to play a violent Mississippi plantation slave worker in Director Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, Django Unchained.

The Hiphop star-turned actor will play alongside a star studded cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz, Kurt Russell, and Don Johnson.

The “Spaghetti Western” picture follows a freed slave name Django (Foxx), who becomes a bounty hunter. While under the protection of his mentor, a German bounty hunter (Waltz), the two take down fugitives for money. They eventually track down Django’s slave wife and free her from her plantation owner (DiCaprio).

An early review of the script said that “it’s a 100 percent pure popcorn and revenge flick, it is pure genius in the way it takes on the evil slave owning south. Think of what he did with the Nazis in Inglorious and you’ll get a sense of what he’s doing with slave owners and slave overseers in this one.”

The film is set to be released on Christmas Day of 2012.
