Update-Mariska Hargitay is growing her family and it’s a boy! Just months after adopting her second child, a daughter Amaya Josephine, Law & Order SVU actress Mariska Hargitay expands her growing family with their latest addition, Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann, who was born this past summer.
“We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’
Hargitay continued;
“We knew this was our guy. Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”
Andrew seems to be adjusting to life just fine at the Hermann residence as big sister Amaya is helping ease him in.
“They’ll lie in the crib together, and she’ll hold his hand and put her arm around him. She’s already so protective of him.”
Hargitay and husband Peter Hermann who are also parents to 5-year old August, shared with a source that they were eager to adopt again because their hearts were already open and ready to accept another needy, newborn. The insider stated;
“He was a preemie. He and Amaya are just a few months apart. Their hearts were so opened by the first adoption. So they couldn’t imagine NOT taking the opportunity to bring another baby into the family.”
“They are very tired and overwhelmed with the change. But overjoyed.”
The source continued;
“Mariska is thrilled and amazed with all the new blessings and great fortune. She has more love than she imagined!”
