The man charged with stalking Halle Berry may have to stand trial on two charges after he was repeatedly seen on the Hollywood star’s property earlier this year.
Judge Melissa Widdifield ruled that Richard Anthony Franco should stand trial after testimony from two witnesses, during a preliminary hearing, showed strong evidence in the case.
The peeping tom has been charged with one count of stalking and one of residential burglary.
One witness, Los Angeles Police Department Detective John Gregozek, spoke to the judge about Berry’s response following Franco’s arrest. He said: “She was afraid for her safety and that of her daughter, as well. She hired armed security to stay at her residence 24 hours. She saw the defendant standing at the kitchen door.”
The 27-year-old man is currently in jail on $150,000 bail and is due back in court on Halloween for arraignment.
