Amanda Brumfield, who is the daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, was sentenced to 20 years in prison yesterday for manslaughter.
Brumfield was convicted of aggravated manslaughter after her best friend’s one-year-old girl daughter died tragically while in her care.
The baby died after suffering from a fractured skull and bleeding and swelling to her brain.
Prosecutors hit her with a first-degree murder charge but she was found not guilty during a trial at an Orlando, Florida court in June.
The Hollywood star’s daughter told the police that the baby died after a freak fall out of her playpen. Prosecutors argued that the injuries were too severe for such an accident.
Brumfield is Billy Bob Thornton’s eldest child.
