Update-Nicki Minaj‘s debut alum ‘Pink Friday’ was certified platinum one month after it’s release, Minaj became the first artist to ever have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Nicki has a host of other accolades attributed to the success of Pink Friday, yet the rapper appears desperate to prove that she can achieve an even higher level of success on her own without a list of collaborators like Lil Wayne, Drake, Rihanna and others.
Nicki hasn’t even finished her tour with Britney Spears and she’s not only working on booking studio time but she’s making epic claims for her follow-up album.
Last Friday, when Nicki had her infamous nip slip, she told GMA,
“My best work is ahead of me, not behind me. Stay tuned. As soon as I get off this tour [which wraps this month], I’m headed to LA to work on this sophomore album and it’s gonna be epic.”
So will be the lucky person if anyone to join Nicki Minaj on her sophomore album?
“I don’t know, I don’t think I’m hitting up anybody for features for this sophomore album. Roman….possibly. But I never give away all my secrets,” she tells MTV.
In a time where the female rap game is Nicki’s oyster – does Nicki Minaj really anything to prove?
