“Franklin & Bash” actress Garcelle Beauvais, known previously for her character “Fancy” on The Jamie Fox Show, understands the difficulties in maintaining companionship in a Hollywood environment.
“Only one person gets the [acting] job and some people feel like they can’t be your friend because that somehow takes away from their chances.”
Consequently, Beauvais (who admits to having few industry friends), takes special delight in her friendship with fellow actress Halle Berry.
During an interview with Essence, Beauvais expanded on why the two connect.
“We go to breakfast with our kids and it’s not about anything else. I was going to do a local show in L.A. and she texted me and was like, ‘I didn’t know you had a new show?’ because when we’re together, we’re real friends, we’re moms and it’s not about business”
We’re sure Halle Berry has a thing or two to share about her ongoing custody battle with her ex-model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry over their daughter, Nahla. Would you consider like Garcelle, that your work and/or business should remain off limits to your friends?
