Beyonce continues to dominate the summer with several high fashion magazine covers including her editorial spreads in the July/August issue of L’Uomo Vogue and the July issue of W magazine. Beyonce is experimenting heavily with her looks this time around. As stated in her Dazed & Confused interview, Beyonce insists she’s over critical and demanding of herself. Beyonce also added,
This part of my life is all about embracing change and going to the next level, taking risks and showing my bravery. Not being safe. Not doing the song that everyone else on pop radio sounds like. Basically, what everyone else is doing, unless it’s something that’s natural for me. I want to do something completely different. I feel like I’ve earned that right. Risks excite me.
Beyonce shares with W magazine her process for bringing a new song to life;
“When I sing a song, I definitely have the image for the video in my mind. I kind of hear the choreography that will be in the video, and I can see how I’ll look, even before anyone–the record company, the director–has heard the song.”
“All these images have something in common,” Beyoncé said. “In my videos I always want to be a powerful woman. That’s my mission.”
Beyonce was recently announced as performer at the 2011 BET awards – well sort of. BET will stream Beyonce’s Glastonbury performance live during the award show. Are you looking forward to Beyonce’s upcoming album “4”?
