Kelly Rowland has been confirmed as the new judge for UK’s “X-Factor.” The former Destiny’s Child singer has been spending more time in the UK for a few years now, noting that she enjoys more success in Europe. So this should be an easy transition.
Simon Cowell caused a raucous in the media for many months leading up to the launch of the US version of “X-Factor.” At the end Simon settled on L.A Reid, former Idol judge Paula Abdul and former UK X-Factor Cheryl Cole.
If you’re keeping count that’s both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole that left UK X-Factor and reportedly popular judge Dannii Minogue was pushed out by Simon. Kelly is reportedly replacing Dannii.
Kelly told the Daily Star,
“The X Factor is an amazing show. I love Simon because he’s so honest. Everything he says I agree with. I don’t know what kind of judge I’ll be.”
Reportedly Simon Cowell hopes Kelly Rowland can add a hip factor to the show – interesting.
An insider said: “Simon has been telling producers he wants Kelly Rowland and Tulisa from N-Dubz and the simple fact is there wasn’t room for everyone.
“Something had to give – and that something was Dannii.”
Kelly Rowland seems extremely nice – will she really be able to dish it out like Simon? This is a good look for Kelly regardless since she’s had some trouble breaking back into the solo scene. Though we think she may have a hit on her hands with her new single, “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne. Check it out:
