Jill Scott is Ebony magazine’s June Music Issue cover girl with a “New Sound” and a “New Look”. Jill is slated to release her fourth studio album, “The Light of the Sun” after a four year hiatus. Jill Scott wasn’t missing from the scene entirely, in the interim, she toured, filmed the BBC/HBO series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency”, reprise her role in “Why Did I Get Married”, switched record labels and last but certainly not least, Jill gave birth to her first child, Jett. And least we forget, Ms. Jilly from Philly dropped 50lbs since giving birth.
Now with her proclaimed “new sound” and “new look” Jill Scott talks to Ebony magazine on her methods to slimming down,
“Anything that makes me feel like I’m not working out. We (Jill’s trainer) go outside and throw footballs, go for walks.”
Jill Scott shares her new insight on life,
“I’m past caring about some things that never mattered in the first place and [I’m] in love with my baby boy,” she says. “I’m also unafraid. I know how much music has always meant to me, how much it means to us all, and I know there’s someone out there, maybe just one someone, who can feel inspired by being brave.”
We’re looking forward to reading more of Jill’s interview and of course enjoying the new sound of “The Light of the Sun” on June 28th! Check out Jill Scott new look with behind the scenes footage of her Ebony cover shoot.
