Ashton Kutcher has replaced Charlie Sheen on CBS’ “Two and a Half Men.” Comedian Charlie Sheen was fired from the hit show after repeatedly berating the shows creator Chuck Lorre and CBS. Not to mention Sheen became unreliable after hard parties and trips to the hospital. Many suitors were considered for the replacement, though Charlie did hope that CBS would come crawling back. Last week, British comedian and actor Hugh Grant was a strong contender but talks reportedly fell flat.
Friday, Ashton Kutcher was announced as the replacement. And it didn’t take Charlie to long to react.
According to TMZ Charlie Sheen said,
“Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!”
“Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB.”
Charlie dropped a warning to Kutcher, “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”
Ashton hoped to minimize the comparisons saying,
“I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”
Ashton Kutcher will reportedly make less than Charlie Sheen per episode. “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer said this of the news,
“I want to express my enormous gratitude to Charlie Sheen for eight great seasons. I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together, and I will miss him — but I’m also looking forward to this new beginning.”
Can Ashton Kutcher fill Charlie Sheen’s shoes in “Two and a Half Men?”
