Vic Mensa dropped out of a show in Detroit after a concert venue spewed a racist message in the wake of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile’s deaths. The two Black men were shot and killed by police in Lousiana and Minnesota, respectively, which led to the Dallas shooting July 7.

Mensa announced the cancellation of the July 29 show on Twitter Friday after Populux dance club tweeted a hateful message blaming “libtards” for the brutal events.

Populux’s Twitter account is currently shut down, but the “U Mad” rapper, who is currently on the Black With a Vengeance tour, captured a screenshot of the tweet before the page closed.

“#blameobama all you libtards caused these deaths. #dallasshooting #f—blacklivesmatter,” the post read.

It was accompanied by a meme of rapper Birdman on a bottle of hot sauce and his now famous phrase “put some respeck on it.”

The venue released a statement on their Facebook page before it was deactivated.

“The tweets, political views and hate messaging that were posted to our Twitter account in the last 24 hours in no way represents our feelings, outlook, or political positions,” it read in part. “We didn’t authorize these tweets. We’re working to understand how our account was compromised. We have the IP addresses from the users that we believe posted these unauthorized messages and are working to identify the individuals involved. We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.”

There was also a retweet from Joe Walsh. In the statement, the venue manager said the tweets were discovered Friday morning. An apology tweet pointed to a hack for the posts.

Mensa has not announced plans to reschedule the Detroit date. In response to the offensive Populux tweet, Mensa said the curse toward BLM “is wishing death on an entire race of people.”
