Tiger Woods to Open Restaurant in Jupiter, Florida

imgres-2Tiger Woods’ play has been hard to swallow — for him and his fans. The hope is that the food at his upcoming new restaurant will be easier to digest.

Woods moved to Jupiter after his divorce a few years ago. He plans to open his first restaurant in his new home at Harbourside: The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club, a $150 million entertainment complex opening this fall.

An opening date has not been set, but it’s likely The Woods Jupiter will open its doors in early 2015.

“I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal,” Woods said in a statement. “I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community.”

The 5,900-square-foot restaurant will have a “prime location” in the new development, next to the amphitheater and marina. It’ll include outdoor seating and also have its own valet roundabout to accommodate patrons, developer Nick Mastroianni II told the Palm Beach Post.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Tiger’s new establishment operating within Harbourside Place,” said Mastroianni, president and CEO of Allied Capital and Development of South Florida. “It’s gratifying to see the final stages met with support from local, national and international organizations such as Mr. Woods.”

Woods said he’s had his eye on Harbourside Place for more than two years and called it “the perfect location” for his restaurant.

“I look forward to enjoying my restaurant as much as I hope the public will,” Woods said.

The plan also calls for two five-story parking garages with about 950 spaces, a 600-seat outdoor amphitheater, a public-private marina, a water taxi stop and access to Riverwalk, the town’s 2.4-mile pedestrian and bicycle path from Ocean Way north to the Jupiter Inlet.
