Shonda Rhimes likes to do things in threes.
The creator and writer of three successful TV dramas—Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal, has expanded her family with the adoption of her third daughter.
Rhimes, who adopted her first daughter Harper in 2002, and Emerson in 2012, shared the news of her new arrival on Twitter:
“Been AWOL from Twitter. I totally have a good reason: TINY HUMAN #3 is here and she’s perfect! Babies are good. Life is good. #2shows3kids”
The Golden Globe winner received congratulatory tweets from her Scandal castmembers.
Kerry Washington tweeted: “You rock!”
The political thriller’s guest star Dan Bucatinsky added: “Hope she’s fat and smushy!”
Last year when Rhimes adopted Emerson, she told Us Weekly:
“This is a happy time. I feel so lucky.”
