FDNY Worker Makes Daring Dog Rescue from Window Ledge

 

The image of the firefighter saving a cat that can’t figure out how to get back down from a tree is familiar to most people. But how many have seen a dog rescued from the window ledge of an apartment building?

James Morgan spotted his neighbor’s dog playing around the second-story window of a Brooklyn apartment building.

“Oh, that’s cute,” he thought. “The dog’s getting a little fresh air.” But soon it was clear the cuddly pooch had wriggled his way past the window guard with no clue how to get back in.

A FDNY communications worker on assignment down the street brought his cherry picker along to attempt the dog rescue, but had to work hard to win over the canine. Morgan filmed the whole incident on his cell phone and it’s a sight to see ‘Brooklyn’s Finest’ buttering up the marooned animal with some doggie treats. The fireman scooped up his new BFF to cheers from the crowd below.
