A day after border patrol police seized 10 pounds of marijuana, a .45 caliber pistol, and 36 bags of what police to be heroin on his tour bus, Nelly released a statement denying any knowledge of the illegal items. Of the seven passengers aboard the tour bus detained at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint in Texas, only one was arrested, Brian Keith Jones, a member of Nelly’s staff. In a statement released Thursday, Nelly explained the situation.
“It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning.” The “Country Grammar” rapper said. ”Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.”
According to the police report, Jones willingly took the wrap for the drugs as well as the gun, allowing Nelly and the rest of his entourage to continue on into the states.
