Dark Knight Rises manhole poster; Is this the Bane Cave?

The Dark Knight Rises promotion is in high gear leading up to the film’s July release, which is just a couple of weeks away.

The latest release is a brand new graffiti-themed poster depicting what looks like a sewer cover spray painted with a scull-like character of The Dark Knight Rises villain, Bane. There’s even more detail going on in the poster, such as, the bat symbol representing Bane’s eyes. One can only wonder what that means.

Based on the quick glimpses of the previous trailers, stills and TV spots, we speculate that the sewer system may be Bane’s hideout or his version of the “Bat Cave”.  Batman supposedly takes on Bane in an intense underground sewer fight, something Dark Knight Rises fans are definitely looking forward to.

In related news, Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt debuted new footage from The Dark Knight Rises last month during the MTV Movie Awards. Warner Bros. then pulled the footage offline after it aired. Although it can’t be shown here, a quick search of Youtube or Dailymotion should reveal the goods.

Warner Bros. Pictures has also brought online two new interactive sites: GothamCitysMostWanted.com and TDKRmap.com. On GothamCitysMostWanted.com you can use your webcam to turn your face into that of Batman, Bane or Catwoman. The most dedicated Dark Knight Rises fans should have a grand old time with this.

The other new site is TDKRmap.com and features an interactive map which fans can use to find IMAX theaters that are showing the film. Guess the long lines around the corner just won’t do.

The Dark Knight Rises darts into theaters on July 20th.
