Ritwika Mitra is an independent journalist based in India. She writes at the intersection of climate crisis, poverty, hunger, caste and migration through a
gendered lens. Her bylines have appeared in The Fuller Project, BehanBox, Foreign Policy, Global Health Now, Unbias The News, The Wire, and Scroll.in, among others. She is a recipient of the Lorenazo Natali grand prize, 2023, and PII-ICRC awards, 2024, and multiple grants and fellowships. Previously, she has worked with The Indian Express, The New Indian Express and Deccan Herald. In 2016, she was awarded the Chevening Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in International Relations at University of Birmingham.
