Kelly Clarkson Engaged to Blake Shelton’s Manager, Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson is engaged to long time friend and boyfriend of a year Brandon Blackstock and took to Twitter to share the big news.

Kelly has been known to be “Miss Independent,” but it seems like Blackstock has finally swept the first American Idol winner off her feet.

“I’M ENGAGED!” Clarkson tweeted with excitement. “I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”

After sharing the big news she tweeted the picture that all her fans had been waiting for… the engagement ring.

The impressive rock was a large canary yellow diamond engagement ring surrounded by other smaller diamonds.

“Everyone has been asking about my engagement ring, so here it is,” the Duets coach tweeted along with a picture of the huge rock. “It’s a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt! They did an amazing job! I can’t wait to make Brandon’s ring with Johnathon as well!”

The couple have only been dating for a year, but have known each other for quite some time. Brandon is the son of Kelly’s manager, Narvel Blackstock.

Kelly’s fiancé, who is also the stepson of Reba McEntire, is a successful manager just like his father. Kelly’s boo manages her good friend Blake Shelton’s career.

The engagement may have just happened recently, but the “Stronger” songstress was never shy about showing how much she was in love with her boyfriend and friend of many years.

“After six years of having to say there’s no one special in my life, finally there is,” Kelly said in an interview with Britain’s Daily Mail. “I’ve known [Brandon] for six years, but he was married for most of that time. Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl, and he was single…”

In addition to putting a smile on the “Catch My Breath” singer’s face, he also inspired her to shed a few pounds.

“I have a boyfriend, and if I’m being completely honest, no one likes to be not toned when you are dating someone,” the 30-year-old American Idol winner explained.

With many of her songs focused on her strong sense of independence it will be interesting to see how (or if) being a wife will impact her music.
