R. Kelly's Tax Debt Increases By $1.3 Million

R. Kelly tax troubles continue to grow as reports confirmed he owes the IRS another 1.3 million dollars in unpaid taxes. The pied pipers tax woes began in 2005 and has continued since then bringing his total as of 2010 to  $4,848,072.71. The following year R. Kelly’s rep claims he’s working with the government to reduce the debt but in 2011 his debt increased by another $1,379,695.11 bringing the complete up to date total to $6,227,767.82.

“He takes this very seriously and is already communicating with the IRS about the payment process to quickly resolve the issue.”

Luckily for the veteran R&B performer he has several things coming down the pipeline. Just last week he announced the ‘Single Ladies’ tour, his memoir is already on shelves and a new installment of ‘Trapped in the Closet’ is in the works.

Kelly was likely distracted by the destruction of his marriage to Hollywood Exes star Andrea. The singer revealed in his memoir that he believed the movie ‘Notebook’ played a direct role in the breakdown of his marriage.

“As the film credits started to roll, I couldn’t move,” he said. “I burst into tears. People walking past me patted me on the back, trying to console me. The Notebook was beautiful, and I was crying because its hero and heroine had died together. But I was also crying because I remembered a Valentine’s Day — when a helicopter dropped a rainfall of roses — that had come and gone … My marriage had died. And there was nothing I could do to bring it back.”

Interesting. Very interesting. About those taxes…..
