Nicki Minaj is accomplishing things no other female hip hop artist has achieved. While still working on collecting the then staggering five Grammys won by Lauryn Hill, Minaj is sealing other projects. Next up on the ‘Starships’ rapper’s plate is Pepsi. Details of the deal remains under wraps however Minaj will be the face of Pepsi’s new beverage ‘Pop’ accompanied with a commercial with a remixed version of ‘Moment for Life.’ Coincidentally the commercial will be a part of the ‘Live For Now’ campaign which will also include another deal with the original King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Pepsi sealed a deal with the Michael Jackson’s estate, according to the Wall Street Journal, to feature his image on more than 1billion cans across the world. This is first major endorsement since the untimely death of the MJ. The launch will coincide with the 25th anniversary of his hit album ‘Bad’.
It is unknown how much Nicki Minaj will earn from the endorsement or Michael Jackson for that matter. We do know 28 years ago he earned a then-record $5 million from his first Pepsi deal.
Who knew Nicki and Michael would be in the same sentence..
